Coffee Facts Friday

Grounds for Beauty
Wake up to the beauty benefits of coffee.   Enjoy your morning Joe and reduce cellulite and brighten your face.  Coffee is full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents.  Brew a delicious pot of coffee but save the grounds.  Mix coffee grounds with virgin olive oil to form a paste.  Rub the past on your face, bottom or belly (wherever) to reduce cellulite and slough of dead skin cells.  Sip you coffee, relax, and shower: Spa in a cup.

My own “Spa in a Cup” – I love it! Using old grounds to get pretty and sip my favorite beverage at the same time is better than having your cake and eating it too. I thought Bed ‘n a Bag was cleaver engineering, but Spa in a Cup is the best.

Back to Spa in a Cup – I have tried it twice and while it is too early to tell if it will reduce cellulite, it works great as a pumice or foot scrub. I followed the directions and mixed the grounds with a little olive oil, then stored it in a plastic jar with lid. I used it in the shower and it worked great; however, I recommend you have a shower with a hand sprayer. Our shower has a separate hand held sprayer and that took care of the grounds very easily. Anyway, with the economy what it is I have had to give up the spa pedicures for the home treatment and so far the coffee scrub is working out great. The home spa isn’t so bad if my husband remembers to serve me a glass of wine while my nail polish dries. I’m working on him serving the wine wearing nothing but a towel – I told him it’s what all the famous spas offer.
